- Crystal Heart -
Artwork Message_
"The Crystal Heart" is inspired by the iconic Bearbrick figure, known for its status in the worlds of fashion and art. The slow formation of agarwood is used as a metaphor for long-term growth and healing. The piece features an agarwood heart embedded in the center of the bear’s hollow body, symbolizing the emotional and physical scars we carry, and how they transform into strength over time.

The artwork represents the process of alkylation in Aquilaria: when the tree is wounded, it secretes resin to protect itself, forming precious knots over the decades. This is comparable to the healing of the human heart after emotional wounds, with each scar adding to the individual's strength.

Concept _
This artwork is inspired by the choices humans make throughout their lives. Although we often believe our decisions are made consciously, they are in fact influenced by time, environment, and opportunities. The combination of agarwood and lighting fixtures symbolizes these unknown choices, illuminating the path to infinite possibilities. The light, emitting intangible images, represents the roads we have yet to explore, which can lead to a world without limits.
Artwork Message _
the Turning Point evokes how our decisions are shaped by external forces, far beyond our simple will. Through the juxtaposition of two different types of Agarwood, the artwork illustrates how two distinct paths can emerge from the same root, symbolizing the evolution and transformation of the choices we make throughout life. The piece invites reflection on the importance of moving forward, regardless of the direction.
_ Key Features _
-
Contrasting materials: The use of two types of agarwood, sourced from different regions, symbolizes two distinct outcomes arising from the same origin.
-
Sculptural design: The agarwood branches are meticulously sculpted and reassembled to create a fluid, organic visual impression.
-
Industrial aesthetic: The Buster&Punch lamp, with its industrial design and smoked bulbs, creates a striking contrast with the natural and traditional wood.
-
Innovative structure: Transparent wires provide structural support and a clean visual aesthetic, simplifying the traditional appearance of hanging installations.
- The Lighting Scar -
Concept _
This artwork conveys the idea that everyone bears visible scars from past experiences. While scars may evoke pain and discomfort, they eventually heal, leaving behind not only marks but also newfound strength. Each scar represents a unique life journey.
_ Artwork Message
Inspired by the natural process of agarwood formation caused by lightning strikes, "The Lighting Scar" uses the Fractal Wood Burning technique to create intricate burn marks on the bear's body, hands, and feet. These scars are then filled with metallic materials, symbolizing the healing process.

Among the many works by BDF Art, *Quiescence* is the one that most intuitively represents the image of the Emma Agarwood brand. This piece embodies the philosophy of calm and healing, just as agarwood symbolizes the depth of human emotions.
The artwork is composed of two acrylic panels, each containing pieces of agarwood in a state of infusion, a symbolic process representing the formation and transformation of agarwood after natural wounds, such as lightning strikes. On these panels, the Emma Agarwood logo is featured alongside Feng Shui elements, further reinforcing the connection to nature and cosmic forces.
The piece reflects how destruction (symbolized by lightning ⚡️) leads to a process of healing and transformation, both for the wood and the human spirit.
- Quiescence -
_ Artwork Message
The artwork explores how invisible scars form and heal over time. Quiescence emphasizes the idea that, to achieve well-being, one must first enter a state of deep calm. Just like agarwood, which becomes precious through its long formation process after being wounded, the healing of our own wounds takes time but ultimately reveals hidden strength and resilience.
